Stacked and compact units
Stacked washer-dryers and compact European washers often need the dryer lifted off or the unit pulled from a closet before anything can be tested. We bring floor protection and plan for it rather than discovering it on arrival.
Repair or replace?
A pump, lock, boot seal, suspension or agitator coupling is a routine repair. A failed tub bearing on an inexpensive top-loader or a control board on a machine that is already near the end of its life often is not worth it, and we will say so. One customer called about a ten-year-old top-loader and was advised on the phone not to book a visit at all because the repair would not pay off.

How a visit works
- Book. Call (415) 494-7882 or use the form below. Tell us the brand, model and what the appliance is doing; we confirm the diagnostic fee and an arrival window before scheduling. Same-day appointments when available.
- Diagnose. The technician tests the appliance in your home and explains what failed and why.
- Approve the price. You get the repair price before any work starts, and decide whether to go ahead.
- Repair or order parts. Pumps, door locks, door boots and suspension parts are often repaired on the same visit; control boards and model-specific parts are ordered.
Before you book
- Find the model number. Usually on the door frame (front-load), under the lid or on the back panel (top-load).
- Water still in the drum?. Do not force the door. If your model has a pump filter behind a small front panel, you can drain it into a shallow pan with towels down.
- Leaking?. Turn off the hot and cold supply valves behind the machine until the visit.

What should I check before calling about a washer that won’t drain?
Clean the pump filter or coin trap if your model has one (usually behind a small door at the bottom front), and check that the drain hose is not kinked behind the machine. Have towels ready; the filter will release the water left in the drum.
